Managing Labels

Select the Administrator tab, then select Labels from the left navigation bar.

Use the Labels window to review, edit and create new labels to apply throughout the system. You can apply labels to devices, subscribers, firmware, users, and scripts. Learn how to apply labels in articles related to each of these specific features.

The Labels window comprises:

Existing Labels—Shows all the current labels in the system. select to add a new label to the system with the Label Editor.

Label Editor—Use the Label Editor to create new labels or edit existing labels.

From here:

  • Select to close the editor and discard your changes.
  • Select to delete a label from the system.
  • Select to save your changes.

Adding a New Label

  1. From the Administration tab, select Labels in the left navigation bar.
  2. Select . The system displays the Label Editor.
  3. Enter the label name in the Label Text field.
  4. Select the icon. A color palette window displays the colors you can use to distinguish your label.
  5. Select a color to apply from the color palette.
  6. Select .

Labels can include alphanumeric characters, underlines, and spaces only. Labels cannot exceed 32 characters in length.

Edit a Label

  1. From the Administration tab, select Labels in the left navigation bar.
  2. Select a label to edit from the Existing Labels list.
  3. Make your changes to the desired field(s) (label name or color scheme).
  4. Select .

Delete a Label

  1. Locate the label to delete from the Label list.
  2. Select next to the label’s name to remove it.

The system refreshes the page, listing the remaining labels. If this label was applied to devices or subscribers, it is removed from those items.
